I was asked to help with a Xmas eve dinner for a friendship group. The ages of the people ranged from 83 to 94.
We were just sitting them down to eat when this male aged in his late 40 arrived and demanded to be feed. This male has a habit of turn up where there is free food. Last night he wouldn't go and I ended up calling the police to have him removed without feeding him.
He spoilt the night for a lot of the old people. I was very angry as this might be the last Xmas of a number of the people.

I think they mean Jesus Christ hence Christmas ie Christ's Mass.

is there anyone here who does not know that christmas was originally the winter solistice which the christians stole to adverise their own faith?
(i am not so sure about commonly known things anymore since that vinegar thingie)

I'm pretty sure majority of ppl here are aware of the origins of Christmas. With today's easy access to information, there really is no excuse, is there?
on 25-12-2013 08:55 PM
don't know.
also with that easy access to information and the fact that kids have to attend school i would not have expected that someone would claim that vinegar is not acidic.
since then i do not assume any knowlegde anymore that seems basic to many people.
now i ask people (even neo) "do you know about that "insert the thing"" and if the answer is no or puzzled face expression i explain.
i just can't know what other people know or not, nothing seems to be given common knowledge. maybe it's just me reading too much, maybe it's them. i don't know but i changed my behaviour accordingly.

Interesting comment. I'm not sure how to answer this one.

I'm going to remain optimistic and hope that majority of people know what vinegar is. (the alternative is too depressing)

the alternative seems to be reality.
it's the choice of lalal land or reality. sadly reality is very often depressing.

I don't think he did, unless he did something you have not divulged.
I would think I would give him a meal............friendship dinner?

It could well be his last Christmas as well, he may have ended up starving to death, just look at it this way you may have saved his life.

freddie you read the post wrong. She didn't feed him!
So he may have ended up starving to death!
Not very Christian-like I'd say
