A ceremony of some kind? I will be there with a present?? What sort of a brother devalues his sister like this?
It's a really odd statement to make to the news his sister is engaged.
rather old news considering the engagement was in March. If you had listened to what his sister said you would not have made an incorrect statement. In her words quote.....he said he would be present at her marriage.......NOT he would take a present.

Incorrect? I don't think so.
She publicly announced her engagement Monday. She has only ever talked about her intention to marry in the past.
And that sentence that I quoted was straighht from the horses mouth - he said that on radio station 3AW yesterday morning when asked if he would attend his sisters wedding.
And here is a link from the rights favourite newspapre - the Daily Telegraph: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/national/prime-minister-tony-abbott-says-he-will-attend-sister...

I watched and listened to her interview the other day....hence my correct statement. The media print what attracts not always the truth?

I think Martini is referring to the recent interview on 3AW.
The question was asked:
"Will you go to her wedding wedding?"
"if there's a ceremony of some kind, yes, I will be there with a present. I'll do the right thing".
So when you quote it in context, I don't think it is an odd statement to make at all.

I'm serious. I really haven't heard a good argument against it. What's the best argument opposing it?
The best argument? That's subjective, isn't it?
But here is one:
Xavier Bongibault, an atheist homosexual, is a prominent spokesman against the bill. โIn France, marriage is not designed to protect the love between two people. French marriage is specifically designed to provide children with families,โ he said in an interview. โ[T]he most serious study done so far...demonstrates quite clearly that a child has trouble being raised by gay parents.โ
Jean Marc, who has lived with a man for 20 years, insists, โThe LGBT movement that speaks out in the media...They donโt speak for me. As a society we should not be encouraging this. Itโs not biologically natural.โ

'Brian' the character from Queer as folk was against gay marriage on principle. 'i dont want societies approval, bleep them' etc. but he supported his friends decisions and came around himself after a while.

That study has already come under scrutiny as it's been revealed that only 2% of those studied said the lived within a same sex environment for more than 3 years.

It is a natural progression...... not so long ago, homosexuality was a crime................. like slavery was. In 2 or 3 generations it will be considered "normal"

Sorry that should be 2% lived for 3 years or less. ONLY two people in that study spent their entire childhood with same sex partners.
