Gillard dumps Labor Senator for not being black

Wonder Gillard wiped KRUDDSs  blood of the knife before she stabbed a loyal senator or 25 years  in the back.

It’s a clear case of racial discrimination. Prime Minister Julia Gillard dumps Senator Trish Crossin for being too white:

PRIME Minister Julia Gillard faces a fight to get former Olympian Nova Peris into the Senate, with current NT Senator Trish Crossin speaking out against the decision to replace her.

Ms Peris will stand for Labor at the upcoming election, with Julia Gillard declaring the party needs an indigenous representative in the Federal Parliament…

The Prime Minister personally selected the Aboriginal athlete for preselection as a senate candidate in the NT in a decision that has upset Labor’s serving senator, Trish Crossin.

Ms Gillard said she had engaged “in a captain’s pick’’ in endorsing the Olympic hockey gold medallist over Senator Crossin…

“There has never been an indigenous Australian who has served as a federal Labor representative,’’ she said.

“I’m determined that at the 2013 election we change that.’’

Let’s be clear. Gillard has given no reason for replacing Crossin with Peris other than that Peris is Aboriginal - and Crossin is not.

Nothing has been said about Crossin being less talented, less hard-working, less loyal. The public explanation for the move is entirely about Nova being of one “race” - and Crossin not.

The Australian Human Rights Commission is normally red hot against this kind of discrimination, and says there is a law against it:

Maybe abbott should look at cory b's seat and replace him with someone from this planet .

This is about Crossin being ousted, by someone that is considered a better vote option. The woman didn't do anything wrong from what I've gathered so far, except, she's not an athlete, someone indigenous, or someone with a profile.

Seems like Peris is not currently a member of the ALP ... nor does she seem to have any political experience.

funniest thing I heard today was Nova saying that she is now going to join the Labor party. 

So lets go out as PM  and make this fantastic announcement about Nova being given pre selection and then tell everyone that she is not a member of the Labor party.. never has been and yet has been pre selected over everyone else that is a member.. 

But don't worry.. she is going to pay her $5 fee to join and all will be well. 

I have no opinion about this woman and if she is good enough to do the job... I just think it farcical about how Gillard went about doing it.......

again, look at coalition results for the recent territory election. the libs have been doing plenty of behind the scenes work there. someone mentioned token candidates, they have  to combat that threat. it may seem harsh, but political office isn't a lifetime appointment. either party would do the same and do so every election cycle. gillards the person with the least secure job of all... and she's at the top ATM. beat-up.

she does not have to do 'anything wrong' . it doesn't work that way and never has. each electoral cycle both parties review pre-selections. it isnt cribbage, its a power struggle. pick your best side if you want to win.

Totally agree and the Obama gushing was cringeworthy.

I suppose Crossin will join the ranks of the many dumped for the politics of celebrity.

Maxine Mckew, Peter Garret, Harry Jenkins, Kevin Rudd, how did that work out for her, one dumped by the people & the other incompetent & threatened her if she dumped him & Rudd whiteanting all the time & McKew doing a tell all book that shone a light on Gillards dirty machinations.

She's the PM that just keeps giving & giving :^O

Does Nova have any experience?

Nova appears to have a great deal of experience in the Indigenous community/education/social issues, from what I have read. Wiki doesn't give anything about her working life any space, so finding it hard to discover on google.

Another woman used in Gillards outrageous gender politics,  another woman discarded in favour of a woman who has no experience, not a member of the Labor party but is part Aboriginal so that suits the disgusting agenda of this PM.

I just wish Nova had the political nouse to see she is being trotted out as the token aborigine. Just like the Dawn Frazer political failure. Dawn didn't have a chance
