Cheapest way for someone to get rid of an unwanted cat is to release it in the bush,(hence we now have a
major problem due to those irresponsible people).
Then you get numbskull's like Bardot "protecting" them,(if they are left alone they will destroy more of our
wildlife).
They need to put some of that wildlife in her hands and then tell that a single cat can kill a thousand of them
each year,
My OH had cats for years and they were always "fixed" and we've handed in dozens of cats and kittens that
were abandoned because the previous "owners" didn't do the right thing.
A feral cat is one of the most vicious and aggressive animals you'll see and they'll try and tear you to pieces,
(we always had a sturdy metal cat carrier to put them in).
My personnel opinion on cats is best kept quiet,

I love all animals, but like others, have seen the wanton destruction that feral cats can cause on other native animals.
Never gotten over seeing the remains of the poor sweet dead possum that used to live near a friends home out in the bush, killed by feral cats...RIP posse

Bardot a numbskull? Because she rescues animals.....(not just cats)?
And why would you think she doesn't get them 'fixed'?
I don't see at all what she has to do with this cull.

She has seen fit in the past to give her opinion on what Australia/Australians should and should not do over wild/feral animal control.

Ok I didn't know that. What did she say?

Because she wants to stop the culling of feral animals.

Where does that come from?
I don't see at all what she has to do with this cull.
Obviously you didn't check out the link.
She stated that she doesn't want these cats culled,(so that would means she preferes to have the wildlife killed
instead).
I know I would rather save a 1000 native animals than one feral cat,(she obviously prefers it the other way).
Yes,she's an animal activist but she doesn't understand the problems we have in Aus in regards to feral
animals and wants culling stopped,

So I guess she would rather see 1000's of kittens die of starvation ( or worse ) ..... Out in the bush it's the survival of the fittest, those who do survive can grow to the size of a sm dog and carry all sorts of "nasties", they are no longer domestic cats as we know them

i love animals and hate seeing any of them harmed, but we must be practical.
unless someone can figure another way to reduce the feral cat population cull it must be.
i wish there could be a way to reduce rabbit numbers besides the calisee virus as making a rabbit suffer for weeks before death is really not on in my opinion.
bring back rabbitos, there was once a whole industry based around the rabbit. rabbit skins for hats, rabbit meat for pet food.

I dont like to see any animals harmed either David, especially the native wildlife ..... When I was a kid, losta people ate rabbit as chicken was so expensive to buy .... no frozen chooks back then, no freezers to keep 'em in either .....

Sorry you had such a dreadful experience Amber. An elderly friend had almost exactly the same thing happen......she had to be hospitalised for several days as the wound ended up uncerating.

I swelled up the next morning...ended up in hospital too. I knew I was in trouble. Sorry to hear about your friend 😞
Hubby went round and said hey why is that cat still in our garden, told them what happened...the son (the one minus a wife) said turn the hose on him.
Didn't care at all...was beginning to understand why the daughter-in-law left not just the cat but the son.
