This version of Pachelbel canon in D was played at my dad's funeral a couple of years ago and it is my most definite favourite.

It is by Per-Olov Kindgren

I learned to play the guitar when I was 39 years old and I remember my mother saying that it was a bit late to learn, wasn't it?  I had to remind her that the year you learn to play guitar isn't important.......it's only important that you learned. 🙂

I love listening to Jose Feliciano's music.  He's blind....not that this would have anything to do with his ability to play.....but, just as a side note. 🙂

of course. I grew up on the old blues players Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Jeff Beck etc....

the new generation seem to have built on those guys (as did Clapton and co build on the previous generation of players), and they have expanded into another place. Lots of classically trained players turning to rock too.

Kids these days have it all - they can learn everything from the internet - no matter what style they want to play. The technology eg slowing down tracks to learn each phrase - Plus they have music in school and are encouraged at every turn. In my day we had to replay the old album stop-and-start and try to pick it up from there.
