Has Community Spirit lost its Community Spirit?
Certainly feels a different place to me

Has been funny watching old CW foes being nice...especially those that hate the "nice" term lol.
Who woulda thunk it that the old CWers would be the one's to set a good example lolololol

Lis doesn't have rose coloured glasses on. She sees exactly what is there. The "nice" people have always been the problem because they feel the need to moderate the board themselves by reporting every controversial post they see. They think/thought that the board would be a much better place if all the controversial posters left. The problem is that it just left a whole lot of boring "nice" people who no-one really wants to read. Of course the "nice" people aren't really that nice at all because they wouldn't be reporting everything/everyone they don't like in the first place.
That isn't to say that there aren't some genuinely nice people here. There are. You don't have to get involved in controversial threads if you don't want to. The truly nice people take the attitude "each to their own" and read something more to their taste instead of reporting what they don't consider suitable.
It will never cease to amaze me the level of outrage expressed by some people on a thread that they find distasteful. The part that never ceases to amaze me the most is that those people will stay on the thread as long as it survives. Surely if you were truly that offended by something you might state it once in the thread (if you bothered at all) and then stay out of the thread. But no....
I wish I had written this. This post reflects exactly what I think but never quite expressed it as succinctly as 10more posts.
