Rio 2016 has ended, but I was a little disapointed. I expected more colour from Brazil. The costumes were great and so was the dancing and formations, but the light show turned everything to much red and the monotonous drumming made me turn the sound down.
Brazilians are well known for their colourful festivals, music and dancing. I wish they had less light shows and concentrated more on their traditional, colourful costumes.
Well, it's over now. All the sports men and women have performed to their best. It was fun watching the different events, as much as I could while awake. Now the preparations for 2020 can begin once everyone is home again. I hope that I will still be around to watch the Tokyo Olympics.
Hopefully they won't turn the ceremonies into a Pokemon hunt.

At least you have a few more "golden" moments than we in Australia have.

NZ ,(18) and the UK,(67) should be regarded as the best teams of this Olympics,(based on population).
The USA (121) who have over 12 times our population, over 4 times the UK population and they only
end up with less than double what the UK got,
Their "greatness" as they call it is only based on their higher number of athletes and the money that gets
thrown at them.
We also do better than a lot of other countries when you take population size into account,

i find it distasteful that 'commentators' are allready complaining about how much each gold medal 'cost' us.
commentators who prolly smoke like steam trains and couldnt run 20 meters without a rest stop or 2.
fine, but they dont tell us how much other countries are pouring into winning medals.
wasnt that long ago briton was a laughing stock of world sport, me thinks a shyte load of cash has been lobbed into taking the brits to the second tear of olympic sport.
who knows how many billion $ the USA spends. or the countries like russia, germany and china.

Well would you Adam and Eve it ? Even before the gold nosed, 'victoRIOus' named aircraft carrying the contestants back from the games has touched down at Heathrow, the BBC are discussing Tokyo 2020 ! ! !

It seems to me that we're watching a closing ceremony right here and now, albeit a rather long and drawn out one.
There are almost no posts commenting on the news and what's happening in the world; at least nothing recent and certainly nothing of a controversial nature.
Nothing. It's as if there's no interest any more and that this board is whimpering out its last gasps
Why is that? Is it a heavy handed moderation which prohibits discussion about current events or have all the chinnies shuffled off or been booted off? The US boards are the same.
We either need a ceremony of Closure or some sort of ebay-led stimulus to get back ebay members' interest.
