TH: "John and I suggest that a rip off tax on the over all small amount of CO2 that Oz we can reduce also wont have any effect on the outcome."
You still have not grasped the fact that our carbon tax is an overall fiscal loss, not a gain TH..
TH: "I firmly believe the change has more to do with the huge deduction of rain forests that are causing these changes and not just the use of fossil fuels."
Believing something does not make it so, try facts/science. Start with the CSIRO and the BOM.
TH: " So between the deduction of absorbed CO2 along with the changing weather patterns caused by there destruction why is this not a more reasonable explanation for climatic changes over a simplistic one of we are creating CO2 and have to tax it."
TH there is no evidence (provide some) to show that reduction in forests have produced changing weather patterns.
"just over half of the CO2 we add to the atmosphere remains there for as long as a century or more. About 25% is absorbed by oceans, and the rest by plants. This "balance sheet" is known as the global carbon budget."
Do you ever research TH, and I mean professional scientific bodies. Why do you never use the CSIRO or BOM?

I know I dont worry about it and just use it as I always have, and its the same as water, I use it to water my lawn as I always have.
The high costs only affect the poor
Isn't that what the carbon tax is all about? to make the rich companies pay for the damage that they may be causing?

Politicians reject call for early shift to emissions trading
The Federal Government and Opposition have dismissed a call from the Australian Industry Group to move to an emissions trading scheme (ETS) two years early.
The employer organisation wants an immediate shift from the carbon tax to an ETS so that a carbon trading scheme would be in place before the September election. read on

I think it was inevitable that it would come in someday.
whichever government was in power.
increased use of airconditioning, and motorised transport would have added a fair bit?
bring back the horse and cart, and just suck it up when the weather is hot lol

Hawk that is what worries me, what we are leaving the children.
Our generation were the ones that started to care, are we teaching our children to do the same???
