Even if all greenhouse gas emissions were stopped today, the effects from past activities will persist for many centuries,
do we suggest that we keep going and don't worry about it ?
are you Cain or Abel ?

I am a realist :^O
either way we are screwed:-(

If the effects were noticed for the last 50 years it means the problem started before the 1960s, so to maintain where we at now and not cause any further damage we would have to turn the clock back, population, living standards and demands of resources back to a period prior to that time.
I don't think that's going to happen unless someone starts a really big war and wipes out 3/4 of the worlds population.

In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.
btw, scientists suggest that if all greenhouse gases were stopped or if everything was switcehed off, it would take approximatly 200 years the the earth to recover from the impact of humans.

and you'll be dead by then so who cares ?
on 09-03-2013 06:21 PM
thats it LL, i dont have gran kids to worry about.
on 09-03-2013 06:45 PM
Do you have friends or family with kids and Grandchildren Joz ?
Some may refer to them as 'the me generation' lol
I think the thing is that things need to be slowed down as much as possible....rather than added to thoughtlessly
Obviously some don't care if it's real or not
on 09-03-2013 06:51 PM
Iza its real, a tax is not going to help and caring or not caring isn't going to change the outcome.
we may very well end up being the fossil fuel in a few thousand years

Didn't science once believe that the Earth was flat?
Didn't science teach us that lightening doesn't strike the same place twice?
Didn't science once tell us that brain cells can't regenerate?
Didn't science once tell us that there were 9 planets in our solar system?
