Well, I guess he was a refugee of sorts - a refugee from the law.

And speakig of refugees and the law, I'd love to see a list of those individuals Polocross reckons are 'constantly in the news for violent and other crimes'.

Either way, it doesn't matter. Not all refugees accepted in Australia are criminals and not all are bionic surgeons. There is a big area in between.

As to having personally befriended any refugees, well I don't know. I don't ask every person of middle-eastern appearance that I meet about their method of coming to Australia.

I tend to take people at face value.

Biggs was part of the gang, but he was a minor player and did not bash anyone.

He was an immigrant, not a refugee.

Yes. His mother destroyed his documents to increase his chances of escape and got false docs for him. 

He went on to become on of our top surgeons after Ruddock said he would have no chance or pursuing his medical career in Australia.
