Ok Clive so you accept that no man has seen The Father.
Explain to me,(and I know you will place a slant on it) how was it that Abraham,Job Jacob among others all saw YHWH?
Again, you are just making statements - WHERE does the Bible say that any of them saw YHWH?
Don't let the hecklers put you off - concentrate - talk to me.

Hello, everyone. This discussion is getting a little heated. Could we please communicate with a more civil tone. Thanks!

I suppose you believe the alternative?
In the beginning there was NOTHING - no God, no air, no gas, no solids, no water, no space - and then there was a BIG BANG and everything came magically into existence. Billions of galaxies, each containing billions of stars and then, in one tiny corner of one of those galaxies, with a Sun just the right distance away and a moon - just the right distance away - a planet called earth - for no reason at all, with no planning behind it, suddenly millions of species of life came about, and then one of these species evolved into intelligent mankind.
Can't you see the irony in that?
If you are going to argue against evolution, Rabbit, at least undersatnd wht it is you are arguing against. The Universe did not suddenly come into existence whole and complete with everything in place as we no it today straight after the big bang. It evolved over billions of years Millions of species did not suddenly come about either - they also evolved over billions of years.
And if it seems reasonable to you that some spirit being could have "magically" produced all these things out of nothing. then why is it unreasonable to assume it could not equally well have happened without the involvement of any spirit being?
The universe and everything in it is the way it is simply because it is the only possible end result of a series of random occurrences. Had one of those occurrences not happend or happened differently then the Universe would be something different.
How many coincidences did it take for you to come into existence? If only one pair of your ancestors thousands of years ago had decided to do the business half an hour later than they did you would not be here at all. Or do you believe there is no such thing as free will and God not only manipulated every meeting and every coupling of every single one of your ancestors but also rode shotgun on every sperm produced by every one of your male antecedents just to ensure the right one fertilised the right ovum on each right occasion to produce you?
It still came out of NOTHING, without any planning, any guidance, any intervention by any intelligence.
NOTHING > BIG BANG! AND WHAT CAUSED THE BIG BANG IN AMONGST ALL THIS NOTHING.
And Yes, you are correct - had any one of the mllions of meetings and coupling been different then I would be a different person. If Bill Gates's parenting had been different we may not be sitting here talking at all. But, what does that prove?

So you dont know the Bible?Abraham looked over and saw three MEN.If you have read it then you must agree that YHWH was there.Jacob stated that he would call the land PENIEL because he saw God face to face and lived.Job stated that previously he heard YHWH but now he saw Him with his eyes.
Or do you deny this is in the Bible?

You are trying to prove your point - give me the scriptures that you are talking about.

Also Rabbit how do you get past John 1:1?And when Jesus is calledEVERLASTING FATHER?How does the JW slant deal with that?

Gen 32: Jacon wrestled with a man (possibly an angel). Are you trying to tell me that Jacob wrestled physically with God?
Gen18: Abraham saw three men. Three men (angelic messengers?) sent to tell Abraham about Sarah having a baby. The same men (angels) who then went to Sodom.
Job 42: Job saw God with his eyes. Amplified Bible puts it rather well: 5 I had heard of You [only] by the hearing of the ear, but now my [spiritual] eye sees You.
I don't know what the JWs would say but I say you are blinded by your beliefs and putting your own interpretation on otherwise straight forward scriptures. None of the above SAW GOD.

The problem with most people Clive is that they slot God(YHWH) into how they think He should be.They say that God cannot die. Why?Are you saying God cannot be alive and dead at the same time?
He can do all things including being a Spirit and in the flesh at the same time.
Once you place limits on Him you relegate Him to nothing.
You cannot twist the Bible to suit interpretations.Apart from the fact there are mistranslations we also have a million interpretations.
Why?What is so hard to accept that the Creator became flesh and walke among His creation?

18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
I cannot count the number of scriptures that define Jesus as the Son of God.
"The Son of God" or "The only begotten Son of God", "The firstborn of all creation", "My Father is greater than I" - there are hundreds - .
You cannot show me ONE that says Jesus IS God.
I answered all of your questions where you claimed I was calling Jesus and Jude liars. I answered all your questions about people seeing God. You have not had the courtesy to recognise that I did = or commented on them at all.
Anyway, it's late and I'm off to bed.
