quick update
the animal control must have given the guy with the nasty dogs a scare, the couple of times ive seen him since the incident hes seen me and turned around and walked the other way.
on another sublect charlie is going well, the only problem he likes to chew stuff he shouldnt.
like my recliner chair, i was out in the garage for a while and when i came back inside my chair had been dragged across the room and the arm rests were strewn all over the room.
this is after he destroyed his new bed
i have got some spray that says it stops dogs chewing things today, will see how it goes
will get a quote from a local upholsterer to repair my chair
will it be worth it?

Animal Control must have told him that his dogs rushing at people may qualify them as dangerous - as such they may be taken from him and possibly put down.
Just my opinion
As for your chair, if it's leather he'll just 'eat' it again if you repair it.
Hope the spray works.

Good to hear about the nasty dude.
Re the chewing problem; maybe you could speak with a dog training centre to see if they have any suggestions or deterrents. Now that Charlie isn't wearing a muzzle, he may be releasing some of his stored up puppy behaviour.

So damn good that bloke has been ' told '.
David, you are going to have to train Charlie into the companion he is going to be.
He's not a pup - he was trained to chase - and whatever they ( which I hate - train them to do ).
Next time - it's - we are going to the garage - come.
Make him a comfortable place - chat to him - include him.
You are still getting to be besties.

Just to add - I hope he has plenty of chew toys to distract from chewing on the furniture.
As well as chew toys, maybe some pigs ears and perhaps a Kong with treats inside to keep him busy.

Some anti-chew training sounds as though it will be in order.
The nasty guy appears to have had a warning that he’s taking to heart. Perhaps (long shot but possible) he’s ashamed of the whole hat stunt…?

already have pigs ears he loves them
gotta not give them too often
got a kong yesterday when i got the spray
he has a couple of toys, the first one was a big soft one he turned into a mess of fluff n cloth
now hes got a very solid rubber one my neighbour had that was too big for her dog, he chews on that every now n then
the chair was not leather, cloth that looked a bit like leather
hes not touched it since i sprayed it, but its only a day
wait n see

Dogs love to be busy - be it chewing a bone - under supervision for about 15 minutes - or playing with their favourite toy.
I have found these a great busier - Boo could smell all the small treats inside but had to figure out how to get to them.
Using her mouth and paws she learned to nuzzle open the boxes for the treat - move them for a treat underneath - toss the bone shapes - treats underneath - shove them aside for another treat - pull out the handles on the round one etc - watch her get mad. LOL
Always excited when she hears it being prepared.
