I watched several horses who didn't want to go into the starting gates. The noise, the colours, the people and the close confinement can be the problem.

I hope they take more precautions now. Killed????  or died?

Killed because of the training they were doing (e.g. over exertion) rather than died from natural causes.

Would the (125) horses have died that day if they were left in their stall?

I didnt watch it, I dont like watching horse being whipped or mistreated in any way

that was really distressing to watch

and it has changed the way i feel about horse

racing.  to me, because of that -

melbourne cup will never be the same.

no more office sweeps for me.

i do hope something good comes out

of it.  the poor animal.

i know this happens all the time but

i have never seen it.  it was horrible.
