I say welcome to our American brothers and sisters. Doesn't mean we have to be nice to them though It can be a rough playground occasionally.
Yep, theres not too much I haven't seen on the boards. Used to read posts saying "bring your thick skin" when welcoming a newcomer. I'd often get slammed for my bad speeling, but it's improved some, maybe a little,, no really, you should have seen it before.
I am in constant communication with my USA parent company (tools) so I have no problem translating your posts 😛
Tire/tyre, aluminum/aluminium, normalize/normalise, it's all beyond easy.
A challenge, I hears ya my pct001wine wonder from down under, i'm out in 5,000 g

Because OZ is the 2nd best. Almost as good as Italia.

All new posters here are welcome as far as I am concerned.
This board does have an unfortunate problem though . . . there are a few people here who will report posts (and posters) which they find offensive and try to drive their targeted victims off the board.
I have always said to these people "It's just a fool who plays it cool by making your world a little colder" And then they come back to complain that the board has fewer and fewer posters.
it's fun to argue with people. It's fun to encounter people who argue back. the mods are sometimes not fun. Freedom of speech is something which we should all support and protect, even if what is said is disagreeable to our particular point of view.
Let us learn how to argue and defend our points of view rather than to hit that report button because we are so immature or petty or that we find we have no cogent argument in rebuttal.
I even enjoy the occasional troll, just so long as they are interesting and flavoursome and their bones don't stick in my teeth 😉

They have made a real mess of the US boards. You can't even read the posts in the correct order unless you have first logged in:

Yes, the changes leave a lot to be desired . . . namely, that they'd leave us alone with all their so-called "improvements".
They'll probably do it to us too in time. So, make the most of it while it lasts.

I think it is great that our boards are considered so interesting that people from all over the world come here 🙂 More the merrier. But it is somewhat tedious when the boards then get spammed by some individuals with their own agenda, not really relevant to Australia.

I like having the Americans here, and those posters from England as well, The place would be boring without them.
I like that they haven't let themselves be driven off by some of the rude xenophobic comments against them.

Vive la difference !
Plus my partner is Canadian, and she has worded me up on how strange the Americans are 🙂
Maybe we need a few Canadians on the boards

I have noticed several posts disappearing and they could not be possibly considered in any way offensive by anybody. What puzzles me is that some of my posts went but there was no notice and therefore no possibility of appeal? I have also seen whole topics go, and there was nothing controversial, no MOD's warning, actually the latest topic I cannot find was perfectly civil, bordering on boring. Unless it is possible to put topic on "ignore"? Could I have done that inadvertently?
