How does the Royal thing work?

If George had have been a Georgina, being the first born, would she have gotten to be Queen one day, even if she got a younger brother, or would the female be bypassed in favour of the male?

But really, what bad choices did he make? Ok so he married the wrong woman. Public opinion (at the time) almost required it.
He (and both she's) were always on a hiding to nothing.

He needed to finalize things with Dianna before engaging with Camilla.

That's what i think, anyway.

He chose to marry Lady Dianna, I think he owed her more respect than what he showed. I think he owed that to his sons as well.

Re: How does the Royal thing work?

That should firstly read, he should have finalised things with Camilla before taking up with Diana...he was at the altar thinking of Camilla, he has said so.

they were never really apart. Very poor form, Charles 😞

Re: How does the Royal thing work?

Yeah I get what you're saying, but that presumes he was living a "normal" life.
He was always "engaged" with Camilla, but the rules at the time didn't allow that.

I think the whole thing was a tragedy for all concerned.

Re: How does the Royal thing work?

What if Liz stepped down and before she did, as Queen, could she cut Charles out and put Wills on the throne ??

even the Royals have to go to the toilet, Greencat. But I suspect that Prince William has been putting himself on the throne for quite a few years now.

Re: How does the Royal thing work?

As I understand it, no she couldn't. There is no legal way the current Queen can decide who succeeds her. It's Charles for as long as he is alive.
