Buy green coloured (not the purpley ones) avocados, they don't go brown.
I just read that yesterday in the Coles magazine. They are the smoother skinned avocados that don't turn purple as they ripen. They are called Shepard avocados apparently. I can't wait until I see them in the shops so that I can do my own experiment.
