How many houses have you lived in?

I have lived in 4, my home I grew up in which my parents still live in, then our 1st home as a married couple, sold that, rented until we bought this home we are currently in.  I think I want 1 more move before I'm too old to do it.  Do you love where you live or do you like change?

At least 14. Some of those were shifts due to being in Armed Forces as well. The rest were mostly job transfers.

Re: How many houses have you lived in?

Living in a coastal tourist town is not that great (I live in one). Houses are expensive to buy for what you get. Extreme shortage of leased houses. Tourists flooding in every weekend and school holidays etc.

Medical services limited - at one stage here for a long time Dr's had their books closed for new patients.

Most of the residents are retirees from Sydney. There is none of that small town friendliness because of this.

Re: How many houses have you lived in?

19, I was the daughter of an engineer who was contracted to different areas/countries so moved every 2 years, then I joined the army met and married my OH who was in the armed forces we moved every 1/5 to 2 years.

Last year we moved into our new home (move 19) which I don't think will be our forever home as it has a lot of stairs so I should imagine we will have one more move and that will be into a retirement village, if they are still around when we retire.

don't think I could do the retirement village thing......might change my mind as I get closer but they pretty much chew up the inheritance for the kids don't they?  I'd just rather be a burden on mine then leave them some cashola for the privilege.

You're in the one with the blowhole aren't you?  We are going up there for a week next month, just to add to your misery :^O

Our little town is not as touristy as yours but I know what you mean.  I make myself just grit my teeth and chant "they are paying for all the nice things we get to enjoy when they leave" 😄

Back to the OP - I have lived in 4 in NZ and 4 in Aust (not counting various flats and share houses in my teens/20s).  I love where I live now and can't see us moving until it's time to go into a "retirement" place (even though we're already retired). Or if I win powerball and can build my dream home right on the beach :^O
