How to vote this year

I honestly cannot vote for either of the major parties, it is going to be a tough one for me.

How do others feel?

Sadly, nothing better has come after Mr Abbott.

Certainly not Mr Turncoatbull or his party faithfuls.

Scott Morrison? I don't mind him, but I don't think he can prevail.

I don't mind Peter Dutton. He has the strength of character but not the public approval. No charisma.

Libs have nothing to offer, in other words.

Neither do Labs. Bill Shorten? A petulant little man. Scornful.

If I could tolerate anyone of the ALP as PM it would be Tanya Plibersek. Love her speaking skills and her presentation. Knows her stuff.

You are right in saying nothing better has come after Toxic Tony, Turnbull your right, Morrison reminds me of an unsuccessful bible bashing used car dealer, and Peter Dutton would nave been responsible for the demise of the Liberal Party as we know it.

Toxic Tony only became PM so we could be rid of Krudd, he didn't change his spots when he became a polly or PM. Julie Bishop is only hanging around so as she can finally become Parliamentary Leader(in Opposition of course and maybe a junior party of the LNP) after the much heralded Election massacre.

ok. Good we've established that.

So what's your suggestion?

Well, I think for you perhaps it's a "personal and hereditary" choice, but I would not make up my mind yet, Uncle Rupert and Aunt Gina have not been involved in any election run up yet, but I'd be getting an very big umbrella a heavy duty raincoat and a big pair o galosh's for when they decide that they  want their party to win. The LNP have decided that the taxpayer will foot their bill (Tim Wilson's inquiry) is just the the first of these major costs but we are now subject to "Your Government is doing such a wonderful job" ads on TV that are costing taxpayers millions. We now have ScMo channelling Trump in regards to the UN recognised Nauru refugees apparently who " may be paedophiles, they may be a rapists, they may be a murderers"

I actually agree with you tezza ...Smiley Surprised  that the taxpayer funded ads are a disgrace.............Only problem is EVERY government including EVERY LABOR government have done exactly the same thing when they have been in power...........Shouldnt be allowed by either side and is frankly an insult to our intelligence.

The minor parties are all in a disarray though, and none of them seem strong enough to lead in government.

If it came to the crunch, I'd vote Liberal over Labor simply because I can't stand the thought of Bill Shorten as PM.

So nothing has changed ovet the years, even when Toxic Tony was PM

I agree the biggest problem with Labor is that Shorten is the leader. If it was anyone else, I would feel a lot more comfortable about the Libs losing the next election.  As for Tanya Plibersek, I dont actually like her or her politics, but I do respect her talent and leadership potential. She would make a very suitable prime minister unlike Shorten.

The other person on the Labor team who has Prime Minister potential is Penny Wong. She is highly inteligent and very careful about what she says. As a knockabout country bloke, I,m not big on the PC, look at me, . rainbow flag waving, gay thing or multiculturalism, but I do think it would show Australia has a bit of maturity and come of age if we elected a gay, female of Asian descent as Prime Minister.

Re: How to vote this year

I'll one vote that Dan Tehan wont be getting, prob wont make much difference to the final result in this electorate BUT I'll feel good about it.

I neither like or dislike Shorten, at  least he's  better/more intelligent than Morrison the clown or poker face Dutton

Re: How to vote this year

it really makes no difference how most of us vote, unless your in a swinging seat.

my seat is a very safe lib/nat seat and it would take a huge swing to unseat the sitting member.

he got a bit of a fright last time out but i think things will return to normal this time round.

i think a lot of like to believe our votes make a difference but they really dont unless your in a marginal seat, but by that i'm not saying dont bother voting. i'm a firm believer in putting your x on the voting slip.

There has been lot of negative media coverage about Shorten, however people who actually met him, or went to one of his town hall meetings say that he was totally different and they ended up really liking him.

The typical media spin was the target to have 50% of new cars sold electric by 2030.  Apparently Morrison has similar target; 30-50% by 2013!   LOL  By the way, there are  SUVselectric alreaddy and also buses.
