I think they'll eat most anyting.  Including one's hand if they can get their mouth around it.  They used to love my mom's peaches.  She used to say the same as you.....they eat them faster than I can pick them!

They will eat almost any fruit or veg, or flower as we found out.

Best to get rid of them.

Spray the zucchinies with garlic spray. This is one taste the possums don't like.

I had possums eat my roses and hated the thought of my roses smelling of garlic, but at least I could enjoy the flowers after the possums left them alone.

They go our roses, plus stripped a bush tree of all new growth so all that was left was 6 inch spikes.
After that, war was declared, the vacant block next door with tea trees on it raided and many others ended up as road kill.

Once the population was thinned out. Bit, they were ok to live with.

Good idea.  Garlic and zucchini go well together.

There'd have to be ways to deter them from eating your veggies though wouldn't there Grandmoon?  I dont think they deserve to be gotton "rid" of just because they are oppertunists 🙂

it is a shame they are protected, our council has cages to catch them in and then take them to another location, but take them and others take over, cant win.

Must admit, they havent eaten many of my roses this yr.
