Urban development is not the cause of no possums. Possums love gardens in suburbia.

Well if the govt want to pay for replacement plants, they can have the possums.

Oh, and they also got in the roof, the basement numerous times.
There were heaps of then 20 - 50 a night in the garden.

In our old house I had possums also living in the walls. It was an old fibro weatherboard house.  I miss them. When we first moved in to the old place there was a hole in the ceiling and one fell into the kitchen and freaked us out LOL.

Mostly they seemed to live under the old carport.  A lady down the road had even built a little treetop cubbie for them and they used it.

If you have any to spare then send them to me as we don't seem to live with nature anymore except for parrots and galahs.

Of course they love gardens when their natural habitat has been destroyed.

Okay, I used to live on acres.  Possums everywhere, trees, sheds, nesting boxes.  We were providing them ideal maternity wards.  Their progeny then ventured into the ceiling space of a "granny flat"  then the main house roof.  They pulled off roof tiles, pulled any wire netting, it was relentless.  They started to fight with the cats when they invaded the cat enclosure.

A culling happened.

The end.

Possums out in the bush are not nearly in the numbers they are in some gardens.

I spotlight in the bush nd we see the possums in the trees,
In fact we look for them to see where they are / nesting nd
Make sure thy are ok and getting rid of the cats / foxes.

We never see 5-10 possums in one tree like you do in suburbia.

You see one or two.

It is unhealthy for over population.
