In my change at the Supermarket.
All crisp and straight and shiny, it is:
I'm going to save it and not spend it. I still have an original $1 and $2 note stuck in a time appropriate photo album.
Probbly should've saved an old one as well. Think I will.

They're nice, aren't they? They are supposedly blind friendly, to make it easier for the blind folk to be able to distinguish between the different notes. That came about after a petition and campaign by a 15yo boy. Kudos to him!

do they think blind people only use $5 notes?

The new notes dont work at the self serve in Woolworths.

Cleaning out some drawers yesterday I found some one and two cent pieces.
Now, how long is it since we had those in change?
Everything marked as $1.98 costs $2.00 and we get no change.
Talk is going on about eliminating the 5 cent pieces as well.

story on radio today saying how theives/pickpockets are going for the 'tap/wave' cards, spending up to $100 fast then tossing the cards,
who would have thought a card that didnt require a number or anything to get at your money would be targeted by crims. ((SLAPS FOREHEAD))

I imagine the banks have done the maths and decided the savings and convenience outweigh the incidents of misuse.

The $5 notes were just the first ones they rolled out with the new design and features. As the other denominations get rolled out, they will also have the new features.

Wonder if the pokies recognise the new ones?
( Did I say that out loud?)
