....apparently 'Monday's' international standard is ISO 8601 and it is the first day of the week.

Wow. I always thought most people considered it the 2nd day of the week - except the Chinese who count Monday as Day 1 of the week......

I have always thought that Monday was the first day of the week.  If it was Sunday then it wouldn't be on the weekend.
