I find it obscene that 85 people own almost half of the worlds wealth.

it is a common belief that people who are rich worked hard to get it and thus are well deserving....

now,

imagine you have a company. the company is doing well because you have a good concept and your workers are honourable people who produce quality goods.

you have the choice now to either:

- share the wealth with your workers cos they did their bit to make you successful (that is the way that won't make you rich)

or

- you keep it all for yourselves and pay minimum wage (that is the way to get rich)

if you don't have a million in the bank you are a bleeping  fool to vote for TA. *sigh*

Of-course, wealthy people work hard to amass their wealth, but there is only 24 hours a day so at most, if they could live with almost no sleep, they could work 3x as long as people who work 8 hours a day. 

What I find disturbing is that those practices that caused the GFC and allowed some to make zillions, and then destroyed countless people's lives, are not under control.

Margo - for what it is worth - I agree with you. It IS obscene.

And unfortunately the more you earn the less you pay. Packer and Rinehart being good examples of this. Yes, in the case of the Packers, they do good philanthropical works but that isn't the base argument.
