I just set off the smoke alarm in our house!  Holy Moly that's loud!  And very difficult to work out how to turn off!  Its one of the hard wired ones and we have 9' ceilings!  

I think I need a little lie down now

Nup, I was frying and the pan was too hot and started smoking a bit.  It is quite happy with toast, but doesn't like sausages. 

I thought I saw something a while ago that suggested all hard wired ones were photoelectric?  

We have a friend who is a firey, I might ask him to look at it.

I'm off to cook bacon & eggs for rolls for lunch.  I think I'll use the BBQ outside lol
