I just set off the smoke alarm in our house! Holy Moly that's loud! And very difficult to work out how to turn off! Its one of the hard wired ones and we have 9' ceilings!
I think I need a little lie down now

LOL. We have a hard wired one too - and 9' ceilings.
You have to open the doors and wave a big bit of cardboard underneath it.
Besides, you are supposed to use the test button
to make sure it's working, ya know

Yep. Me and smoke alarms have a long and close relationship. I've been known to cook my breakfast toast out on the balcony of apartments/holiday units because of the fear I have of setting off the alarm.
I'm also not unguilty of setting my car alarm off by accidently pushing the wrong combinations of buttons on the remote in my pocket.
I live a very alarming life

Now I'm sitting here with a blanket because I have all the doors open and there is a cold wind blowing through the house. I'm too afraid to close them yet just in case there is some residue fumes might set it off again. Bluddy thing
And, why do these things only ever happen when I'm here by myself? Hhmmmmm?
