yes, that is odd..............

 in our family we use that "poor" word as a joke............

my brother in law thinks he is hard done by so we say "AAwww Poor Mick" etc.

Too many words to say. Poor is just one word. You don't want them over taxing their vocal chords do you.

The word poor strikes fear into my heart.

When Channy rings me and says do you love me, I am poor, I get really really scared because I just know what the next sentence is

A lot of the language they use is from the past.

They're trying to go back in time.
