I'm on a diet who wants to join me?

I started this diet Friday 22/08/14

The focus of this diet is to replace bread with ryvita crackers and drinks with plain water + lemon. The main food is dry beans which are soaked for 8 hours then cooked for 30min sometimes up to 1hr depends on bean. Then coated with a touch of vinegar and lemon. Then eat.  I soak beans every night for the next day.

The diet goes like this:

Monday                 BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Tuesday               BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Wednesday          BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Thursday              BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

Friday                    BREAKFAST: 2 ryvitas with spread cheese + coffee,  LUNCH: beans,   DINNER: beans with tuna or other fish.

At lunch I sometimes add grilled fish to break the boredom or tuna.

CHEAT DAYS:

Saturday               BREAKFAST eggs on toast with coffee,  LUNCH:  Eat anything,   DINNER: Eat anything except bread

Sunday                 Basically same as Saturday but a bit less norti.

So far my waisteline is about 4 inches less and getting slimmer in the face.

My weight was 130kg - my target is 95kg.    Lets see how far I get. LOL

Join in if you want and post your results.

I have endured weeks of punishment to get this far and don't want to give up. I haven't had bread and that is hard. It's all in the mind if I don't think about it I don't need it. It is like torture dreaming of what I could eat.

UFO. you have my deepest sympathies. This is a problem with diets which deny certain foods. The creation of cravings for the forbidden.

The thing is, it is not the foods themselves which are bad or which shouldn't be eaten, but it is the amount of each which needs to be condsidered.

it is a matter of physics. Calories in versus calories burned. Get more excercise and build up a healthy appetite. Smiley Frustrated  It's hard to get ahead.

I am exercising though, I do bench press, 3 sets of 10. Hand weights with the z-bar 3 sets x 10 and I walk 20 to 30min each day.

See if I eat everything based on amount I'm not sure how that is going to work. Say if I go out and order pizza. A pizza is full of bread in the base and who knows what they put in it. Then once I get the taste of that the next day I'll eat something like a sausage roll from fergusons which I like a lot that's why I'm not doing the 'eat everything' but less. I don't know the solution for sure that's why i'm restricting foods.

How many calories am I supposed to eat anyway?

I really need to get to 95kg before I change it, maybe I could introduce more foods to it but I want to get to my target first.

These days we have the internet; a wonderful research tool where you can find out about how many calories per day an average person needs to eat, etc.

There are many factors which cause a person to gain weight by making the wrong food choices and the wrong activity regime. Do some research on the 'net, tnen go for a brisk walk and think about what you learned. 😉

A good rule of thumb if you're trying to lose weight is to multiply your weight by 7. Basically 7 calories per pound. So if, for example, you weigh 200 pounds you shouldn't eat more than 1400 calories a day. As you lose the weight, readjust your calories.

Of course, the kind of calories you are eating makes all the difference.

I'm currently 273 pounds x 7 = 1,911 calories

Get out your calculator, ufo.

We do kilograms and kilojoules in Oz

I read somwhere that a craving only lasts 8 minutes.

If you can distract yourself with something else,

the craving will disappear.

Well. it worked for me to give up smoking.

Good luck, ufo, stick with it.  Please don't give up
