Campbell Newman......
He has come to Bundaberg many times since the floods along with Tony Abbott... KRudd is yet to visit once... and since Rudd did not sign off on a lot of relief money he probably won't be well received if he does visit.
Anyway.. back to Mr Newman.... he has made some fantastic changes for our region and today he made a big announcement today that will create 500 jobs for the area...
I was very impressed with Mr Newman and feel very happy that my vote went to such an amazing man.
And for those that want to cry about the cuts I suggest you all look at the latest stats and see how much QLD has grown in the last 12 or so months. Jobs and growth are above and beyond what the rest of the countries growth has been.

I saw an amazing dad yesterday... he was with his three kids and he was waiting with them on the footpath.. they were asking what was going on and he sat down and explained the whole how to vote flyer and what it meant and how you numbered the boxes... he was patient and his kids were enthralled...
I also think the 60 staff at the pre poll counting venue were awesome too.... 27,000 votes to count.... 4.5 hours later they were done with the reps count (to first preference, first count) .. I think they will be going with the 27,000 senate papers for a long time... 3/4 of the room was a sea of white papers...

I suppose now is not a good time to remind you that on a previous thread about the floods you were scathing of politicians that showed up to show their support? You mentioned that the area didn't need their help or the focus taken away from the problems at hand? But perhaps that is because it was a Labor politician visiting instead of Saint Newman?
nope.. I am pretty sure I am all for politicians visiting disaster areas... I think it gives many people a lift in their spirits. It shows that they are not forgotten.

I lived in Campbell street when I was a kid
I have property in Camp Hill
Two of the Crikey's are away on Camp atm
The other Crikey has gone to an engagement party (it's a long way away, so they went with and are staying with their aunty) Theaunty's daughty is getting engaged to another girl.
Seems there's a lot of Camp in my life, but I don't like Campbell Newman

Why was he "an amazing dad"? Surely this is what most parents do? Hopefully others don't use the how to vote flyer though. But,....it is Bundaberg.

But not if they are Labor, eh? Here is what you wrote earlier in the year about Gillard coming up your way:
I would not go and see her... the fact is that our region needs massive support in the manner of donations.... I would not want a rant from me to distract from the important needs of my community.
So if it is a Labor politician, it distracts from the community. But if it is a Liberal politician, it lifts the spirits?

I think that TA and Barnaby Joyce fended of comments that their visit was a media/political stunt didn't they ? did Barnaby Joyce as reported, say something like "what would the people of Bundaberg think if we didn't come" ?
