Don't talk to me. Don't even look at me.

Well done cat!
I gave up 6 weeks and 3 days ago.
I have noticed the stink on other smokers and don't ever want to smell like that again. I've also noticed the extra money in my pocket!
I got lost driving in the city on Sunday and was so frustrated all I wanted to do was go and buy a great big packet of ciggies. But I didn't

Congrats buzz!! Well done! I can't wait to be able to say I've been a non smoker for 6 weeks!
Yep we have to watch those triggers. I had a pain in my tooth the other day and my first thought was "I need a cigarette!" then I told myself "how's a cigarette going to help? I need a dentist LOL".
I'm so happy you realised a cigarette didn't have an inbuilt Navman.

I hate drugs and I hate what addicted does. When I realised I was addicted to a drug that did it for me.
it's taken you this long to realize tobaco is addictive? well ...atleast you came to a realization eventually

Oh that explains a lot. Thanks 🙂
Well done on quitting too!
So many people are finally quitting. It's good to hear. It can take a few quits for it to stick for some/most people.
I recommend Allen Carr's book.
The best book that I have ever read...it still sits on my bedside table and on the 13th it will be 5 years since I became a non smoker!!
well done Cat you are now a NON smoker,be proud of yourself

I know this time I will never smoke again, in the past I have always been one cigarrette away from being a smoker. I had to work at not smoking.
It is different this time because I have changed my thinking.
You can do it cat_mioux
Exactly tttt..read the book too and can say honestly I did not have any cravings at all!!

Well what a happy thread this has turned into - not!
Can't people just encourage without mentioning all the
horrible suffering and deaths they've witnessed because
of smoking?
I was diagnosed with emphysema 4 years after giving it up.
So now I get reminded about what a horrible death I'm gunna have?
Great
I`d love to know how you are coping with emphysema..I have copd which is another disease caused by smoking..

If you can call it coping...I have chosen to ignore it for now. I have had testing and I don't have any breathing problems ATM. There was a point when I thought I had copd.
At one stage a few years ago I was on a machine that was hired from the chemist
(forget now what med it was). But all that is behind me now. I do not have copd as
far as I know.
Do you have an oxygen tank? I would have a problem with walking one of them
around - cos I have a walking stick as well.

Yes I have an oxygen tank but I don`t need to walk around with it..I try to do everything without using it...the last time I had a lung function test my lung capacity was 33% not good but you gotta manage..life is what you make it no use feeling sorry for yourself you make do with what you have..imo
