Huge congratulations ms mioux.
Whenever I've stopped for a little (very little) while, the one thing I really notice is the smell of my hands. My hands smell lovely !! lol No idea about any other part.
As for reasons to stop, well, I think the only way is if the person wants to stop....really wants to stop and it sounds like you really do, so congrats again and enjoy smelling your hands !

Hi Soul and Kylie and fiesta!
Thanks for your inspiring posts! There are so many benefits to not smoking and none to smoke. I saved over $100 this week from not smoking.
It's Day 9 of my Quit. The cravings are getting less frequent and less in intensity. I'm still coughing and it's gross. Good Lord, I must have a lot of crud deep in my lungs.
I can sit around other smokers at work (no problem), I can drive without a cigarette, I can cope with stress (a kitty with the runs) without a cigarette ....

Well done - I gave up for 2 years - then decided I could be a social smoker........
turns out I was wrong !

greencat I started smoking again after a 5 month quit, 13 years ago. I started off botting a cig off Mr Ex, then only smoking weekends then smoking every day. It only took a matter of weeks to go from 0 cigs to 25 cigs a day 😞 It was as if I'd never given up.
Now I have a mantra "one puff away from a pack a day". All it takes is one puff and the addiction part in your brain becomes activated by 50%. ONE PUFF! Holy cow!
Today is the first day I feel okay. I'm hardly coughing thank goodness. I must be at the bottom of the crud barrel.
10 days smoke free Yipeee!
Congrats to all who are smoke free! It really is worth quitting for so many reasons.

"one puff away from a pack a day"
That's the trick, to not have that one puff. And you probably won't ever feel like having that first puff, not physically anyway.
Everything about smoking stinks and makes you feel terrible at the beginning.
Just remember that. And Mr Cat (if there is one) won't have to kiss an ashtray now.
Great effort, many are behind you all the way.
