I put one of these on their side on a shelf and a heap of plastic cutlery through the gaps. I find if I buy a 10 or 20 pack of plastic cutlery I end up opening it and using 1 or 2 and then throwing the whole bag out.

Icy, really? Saves on the washing up.
I put the plastic cutlery in ziplock bags and throw it
in the picnic hamper for a nice sunny day

If Im in a rush and I dont want to wash the dishes. Also plastic cutlery is good for using when you have to glue stuff together or scrape frypan without scratching it. Or if you have a sticker or a stubborn piece of tape stuck on something.
Also you can use them to clean your shoes if they get dirt or gum stuck in them.
If someone brings home a heap of raw meat and using the entire kitchen and it is germy. Or if I have to spray fly spray in the kitchen and then I dont want to use anything from the kitchen until Ive wiped all the drawer handles and benches over.

That's an ingenious idea for someone who has lots of plastic knives and forks to store.

That is soooo environmentally unfriendly.
