Sitting in the home office with a cup of tea keying a few books and listing to bird song (no traffic), and occasionally looking out onto the boat ramp and to watch a squadron of pelicans fishing as tide comes in.
Woulnt be dead for quids.

Thanks you.
Obviously we’re in the final stages of a Reno. Need to finish the painting, underground the rainwater pipe to the tank - 50,000 litres, no mains supply here – and then re-lay the pavers. Then after the tree has had its date with the executioner everything’s tick-it-e –boo

Just gorgeous TB, how lovely to be able to see the ocean. My spouse doesn't appreciate ocean views, says they are boring. Pffft. He hasn't the the ocean whipped up in to white horses, darkened by squalls, clouds lit up by lightning from storms way out to sea, and of course the beautful blue on a clear day. As a kid, I loved it it when we cleaned fish at the boat ramps and the pelicans would hang around waiting to grab some of the guts and frames. Do they still have cleaning benches at the boat ramps?
Bushie, I always enjoy seeing photos of your home. It reminds me of the days when no-one locked their doors, kids could ride their bikes unsupervised and everyone knew their neighbours.

We have a two story house, westerly aspect, with a balcony and sitting room upstairs, so the sunsets are something spectacular.
The dunes across the road are a migratory seabird habit, sanctuary and nursery. Ornithologists from all over Australia come in spring to take a look.
A few weeks ago had 20 or so black swans paddle by, and found a seal sunning itself on the ramp
Last time I launched off the ramp didn’t get a bite. Probably because the local dolphins had a ball darting under the boat, with a couple of seals nearby laying on their backs eating blue crab. We moved they moved.
Like I said it don’t get much better than this.

Yep
It’s a foreigner anyway. Like everyone else around here will replant with low growing local natives which should provide a decent habit for the local lizards and ground birds.
Not much rain her over summer and no mains water. 50,000 litres makes sure we don’t have to have to pay for someone to cart in water over summer.
Now I must say good night. Been up since 2 am.
