so, when two men (or two women) are together, they used to be partners, now when they are married what are they called? Not still partners, surely?

Since I'm almost certain you agree with the proposition "It's all Labor's fault" and . . .

since most Muslims in Australia vote Labor then,

blame could therefore be apportioned to Muslim Labor-voting Australians, at the very least.

You obviously haven't read the OP. This whole thread is about the referendum in Ireland.  The result was a resounding YES in favour of same sex marriage and while some NO supporters are apparently pointing fingers and and trying to suggest the debate was hijacked, there is no way in the world anyone can blame this one  on Muslims or  a demand for Sharia Law..

Why not?  Some people continue to call their partner partner after they marry so why wouldn't same sex people continue to call their partner partner?

That sounds similar to asking SS couples who is the man or who is the woman.

Spouse? That's the relationship I have with my marriage partner. I expect they would refer to each other as my husband or my wife. e.g., Elton John's husband is David Furnish and Ellen DeGenereres' wife is Portia de Rossi.

Nah, I got your meaning. But why bring the Muslims into the conversation? Just for the sake of sarcasm? Lttle bit of muddying the waters?

If you "got my meaning" why do you need to ask?

Just to confirm your rather high opinion of your own wit.

Yet in your post #22 you chose to introduce Muslims into the debate:

"What a pity though that we can't blame it on the Muslims."

The result was a resounding YES in favour of same sex marriage and while some NO supporters are apparently pointing fingers and and trying to suggest the debate was hijacked, there is no way in the world anyone can blame this one  on Muslims or  a demand for Sharia Law..

Where did the Muslims or Sharia Law even come into the debate before you oh so tongue stuck firmly in your cheek thought you'd try a bit of gratuitous baiting?

Although I suppose they have their fair share of Muslims in Ireland.

they'll be husband and husband.

or wife and wife.

or they'll just be husband and wife depending on which role either chooses.

What a shamozzle.
