To find out where a cheque was cashed/ or banked?
I have the cheque number the amount it was for and who the drawer was and who the cheque was for.

You can ask Telstra to find out which account the cheque was put in, it can't be cashed over the counter unless the presenter has a bank account with that bank, they need to re issure the cheque to your brother's estate and follow up on the other one themselves.

Of all companies to deal with Telstra would have to be the ultimate stress attack. I will ring them again today and demand they follow up on this matter, they have told me it's been presented and the only information they would offer was the cheque number and the date it was presented.

yes but it is their problem, not yours, it didn't go into your account or your brother's, get tough and don't let them fob you off.
I had a telstra issue last week that took me 4 days to sort out. Finally all was restored on Tuesday with some apologies and a credit!!.

Freddie are you dealing with the bereavement section of telstra? Make sure you ask for deceased estates and deal with them directly, they seem to be pretty efficient there.
I had a minor glitch with them, but it was me asking for something slightly complicated to be done, I tried to fix it by going through normal channels which only made things worse and I ended up with a $130 disconnection bill. 5 minutes on the phone to bereavement and it was all fixed.

I think Punch is on the right track there Freddie, because getting any information from Telstra is like getting blood out of a stone unless your name is on the account
Good luck with it, I hope you get some answers.
how low is that if somene has taken the mail??

Now that i've cooled off, and put the gun away.
After spending hours with regard to following up and trying to get further information about this cheque from Telstra, NAB Bank, Telstra shop here I even went to the Police who gave me a Fraud questionaire to bring home and fill out to enable them to investigate.
Whilst filling out the papers for the fraud Detectives, I rang my Brother's solicitor to check on some paper work from the Bank, I spoke to his Secretary and just happened to mention the chase up I was doing with regard to this cashed cheque from Telstra, she said "oh that cheque was sent to us we put it in our trust account"
OMG I had fumes leaping from my ears.
