Is there a jpg person to help me, please ?

Hello, Sanyo 14.0 Mega Pixels Digital Camera with a 4xOptical Zoom Lens, 5.05-20.2mm EQ 28-112mm 1:2.8.6.3

l do not know what the last lot of figures mean after the 4x Optical Zoom, l am an older pensioner, so unlikely to afford a much better Digital Camera, unless the dollars were right here on ebay. But if recommened l might be able to upgrade.

My problem is that l am not happy Jan, with the outcome of photos that l have taken of items l wish to sell here on ebay.

Either the Focus is not right, l may not have the light coming in from the correct position, and what should l be doing after dark to take shots of items in say my kitchen or living room. Just not happy all round, l am doing something wrong, but do not know what. Yes, my camera has Flash, but rarely do l see it activate.

If l wanted to take a photo of a 1925 Australian Penny, how close or far away from the coin should my camera be ?

Can some kind person direct me in the right path, so that l can see the light. Thank you in advance. Dale.

I can't help you with the camera zoom function, but;

I can help you to post text which is large enough to be legible.

Before you type, click on "Font Sizes" and select a larger number; say, 4, for example.

Gee, er, "Thank You"  iapetus_rocks, ...is this big enough now ?  thanks.

Use the macro setting. use a tripod for macro on small objects.

Play around with the camera settings until you develop a feel for what works.

Download a prog like Picassa to do basic image manipulation.

Take lots of pics under different conditions because it costs nothing (think film processing costs and time waiting for the pics to come back)

Use the internet to research techniques or read magazines.

For small metallic (highly reflective) objects like coins, try taking pics outside in natural light but on cloudy or overcast days so that the sun doesn't cause strong shadows.

That's the sum total of my photo knowledge. good luck. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank You l did find Picassa on the net when l did a general search, so will look into that further. You have brought some good points up to look at. Great to pursue.
