just little bowls to put your mustards and sauces etc in for on the dinner table?
I've got a white dinner set with gold edges, and trying to find matching dishes etc - I just know them as ramekins, but is there a special name?
Thanks

I collect old china trio's, I have 2 display units, each cup saucer and plate has a tiny dainty little spoon in the saucer, I use the above process to brighten the spoons up once they begin to get the tarnish look.

Do you realise that the ones you have listed as the solution are milk glass and
not china?
Maybe these - no gold trim, but la-de-da bone china

What's for dinner?
could be - mum likes all the flower stuff and she's been collecting it for years and years.
so far I have
stuffed loin pork rolled
beef wellington
baked ham
a whole baked emperor or schnapper (just depends what's at the wharf when I go)
gravalax
cheesecake
boil in the cloth puddings
pavlova (maybe)
choc baskets
brandy snaps
chocolate pate
japponnaise torte
fruit
.................................
gingerbread village
rum balls
haven't thought about snacky stuff much yet
I have 2 pates planned
cheese platter
that's as far as I have got really.
dunno, just starting the menu mnow really.
I have to do some stuff outside too for some others, but they're easy LOL
I'd love to do them one of those cob loaf thingys and a mexican seven layer dip thing
What no Lobster??????not good LL!!

I would be really upset if my children were this concerned about me visiting...... after 15 years?

LOL, no lobster - but I have to have some fish cos there are 2 pretendy vegetarians coming for lunch. There will be about 10 stay on for dinner too, and then the afterparty.
but dont't most people have a roast and a ham for christmas? (besides, my brother got that, so it would be a bit rude not to serve it)
and I have to have cloth puddings cos my grandma always had those. so its like she is there, and grandpa used to get a kick out of finding the coins in his serve LOL (But my pouddings aren't as good as grandmas though)
what else there don't people normally have?
Apparently I'm supposed to have a trifle and caramel tart as well! (But I draw the line at trifle, we call it "pigs' trough delight" LOL
and the little girl has decided she wants to make cupcakes and decorate them with pastilage stuff too now.
BTW, I found the most awesome ramekin thingyies in Kmart today - they are individual casserole dishes LOL but they have lids - and they were only $2 each LOLOL so solved that too - with the ones she ele found for me last night, I'm gonna have enough condiment dishes for a lifetime!
They had little tiny spoons too 12 for $6

that's a lot of effort and a big build up to what no doubt will be an emotional day for you.I hope that the success of the day doesn't totally depend on your Mother's approval of everything you do.
who is 'The little girl' ? Is that a friend's child?

Kmart have a bit off 'knockoff' (copies of major brands) stuff in the kitchen dept. I have seen plastic containers with lids that look just like Tupperware (probably not as good re seal) designs, teapots that are a copies of zero teapot brand.. I don't know how they get away with that.
