A signature scent, is a perfume that a lady will wear as her only scent...so it is her "signature". Recognisably hers, and hers alone. The way a lady might enter a room, preceded by a gentle trace of perfume. As all heads turn to the doorway in eager anticipation...that kinda thing 🙂

eau d'dogue  Smiley Very Happy

My Nana wore Tabu. I always associate the smell with old ladies.

I don't have any fancy exxy stuf, if I wear anything it is a cheapy Merely Musk oil from the body shop. I can't find it in this country though. It is is a mix of sandalwood and white musk oil.

The Body Shop does good oils. They smell like what they are meant to be. I have Mango and also the Pink Grapefruit.

Tabu is one I had for years and some special ones I loved and got compliments when I wore them, one was a little, white bottle called MINK, and one was LULU. Can not get them anyomore.

At home I don't wear perfume and hardly on hot summer days, as wasps just love me when I wear some perfume and I hate wasps.

I have not bought any perfume over the last few years, but have some lovely ones given to me as gifts. Years ago my daughter gave me a large bottle of Charlie. It was a very nice perfume to wear at anytime. My husband gave me Opium a while back and recently Champs-Elysees by Guerlain. Very light and great for daywear. I also got Diamonds and Rubies (Elizabeth Taylor), it's still in the box, and for my recent birthday a male friend brought me a large bottle of Paloma Picasso from his overseas trip. A very heady perfume, ideal for special nights.

All the beautiful perfumes I have will last me for the rest of my life, and perhaps what's left over they can use to scent my grave.

I still miss LULU,

That's very moving Erica.

My hubby says when I die there will be enough perfume to fill a small wharehouse for one of those weekend sales 😮

Erica,

I have a perfume called Lou Lou, it is lovely.

Alot of the old perfumes they dont make these days.

Many years ago when I was 17, Revlon made one called Intimate, I loved that one and so did my friends, it had a divine smell, but it has gone too.

My grandmother use to use one called something.......Violets, had a pretty smell, I can still see the picture on the bottle in my mind.

Chemist Warehouse is having a perfume sale at the moment, might go down and see what they have on offer.

For anyone looking to replace a discontinued perfume, there are great sites that have descriptions of perfumes and list similar ones.

www.fragrantica.com is one. That can help to find something new, too. There are also reviews which can be quite informative before buying, staying power, the dry down scent, etc.

Dry down is how it smells after a few hours, revealing the base notes or Heart of the perfume.
