I'm sick and tired of feeling sick and tired so I've decided to start juicing. I bought a Breville Juice Fountain online. It arrives next week.
Has anyone done this juicing thing before? How did you feel? Do you have a favourite recipe?

go Cat!!!!!!!
JUst be aware it's VERY hard to give up the carb's, sugar and MSG. THese things are addictive.
You really have to streamline your kitchen habits or you'll fall back to your old habits.

Be sure to wash and clean your fruit and veggies well before juicing. It's expensive to juice, why is it that organic fruit and veg are more expensive? Growers don't have the expense of fertilizer and sprays, so why should organic be more expensive?

My juicer arrived this morning!
I haven't had my first juice yet, I haven't eaten anything, yes I know it's lunch time. I just feel so blah. But my juice today will be, because I bought my vege's yesterday:
Celery
Beet
Organic carrots
Cucumber
Apple
Lemon
Parsley
I couldn't find kale anywhere, but I'll try another shop today.
I will wash all the vege's properly Freddie smoochie girl, thanks for the advice. I don't know why organic is more expensive either, but maybe the farmers crop yield isn't as high because they don't use chemicals?
Annie I've given up gluten this week and next week I'll start with sugar. I'll do it gradually because I don't have the energy to do it tough.
I've just realised I'm well over due for my B12 injection. Doh! Will organise that today. 😐
Happy juicing!

I had a huge milkshake glass of vege juice. It was yummy! I love the Breville.
I was going to use 1/4 lemon but I decided to only use an 1/8th and I'm glad I did because it was just right.
Now I'm waiting for a boost of energy :^O
PS I've lost my appetite but getting the juice down was easy. I can see how beneficial juicing would be for people convalescing.

Watch put for Kale too, it's like ginger, a touch is more than enough.
😄

I tried broccoli(mixed with others or course) and LOVED it, but for some reason can barely stand it any time after that.. ?:|

Hope you're feeling better soon Cat :-x,
Remember if you start a detox you're bound to feel worse before you feel better. All of the toxins and withdrawals from processed foods, sugars, coffee, additives ...blah blah...
Cheaper alternative to organic is to spray all veg and produce with a mix of water, 1/3 white vinegar, a table spoon of bicarb shaken in an atomiser spray bottle... then rinse thoroughly.
Gets rid of the nasty pesticides, chemicals plus those wax coatings on the citrus (I juice my skins).
Tip for you: Apple seeds contain small traces of arsenic so I do core my apples.
If I don't have Kale, I'll use chinese cabbage, spinach, silverbeet bok choy and/or broccoli.
Happy Juicin' everyone 😄

How much water?

You're welcome freddie. I use a water:vinegar - 3:1 ratio with the 1 tablespoon bicarb in a 500ml atomizer spray bottle.
