Just Cleaned the Oven - Do I Throw It Out Before It Gets To That Again - Or Get a Weber

Noticed here not that long ago - mention of a Weber - heavens gift to never cleaning the oven.

Please extoll the virtues of the 'Weber'.

Or just throwing out the oven.

A pyrolytic oven - sounds like a bonfire.

And under the plates it looks like this

Both the outer ring and the inner "rod" burners are operated separately so you have infinite control over the amount of heat and where it is generated.

The big secret to them is, when roasting, you never open the lid.  I use a remote meat thermometer to gauge if it is cooked.

Re: Just Cleaned the Oven - Do I Throw It Out Before It Gets To That Again - Or Get a Weber

I've been looking everywhere, but I can't find written proof........however....

My mum and mother-in-law never seemed to complain about cleaning a "burnt" oven.

They never wasted the heat of the oven once a roast was done.  Turned off, the heat cooked baked custard, etc.

The moisture from that must have softened any grease, and a quick wipe of the oven after removing the custard seemed just part of washing up and cleaning cooktop, bench, etc.  (No dishwasher involvedSmiley Happy)

oh, and I don't know if it is part of it, but they used to rub salt over the pre-cooked bird, meat;  would that have stopped "splattering" of fats?

I just cook everything in oven bags.    No splatter

OK.

Lovelies - tell that to those that cook.

And don't clean.

At least I get to eat - suppose cleaning is kinda paying for sustenance.

Think I'll get a Weber.

Or give up eating altogether.

And not directed at ecar - just the next post.
