If you give a gonski apparently there is a petition on the gonski site.
You can see what your school stands to gain on the site:

Ditto, good posts that are informative and not just the “show me the“money” palaver Labor are frothing about. They got completetly wrong footed, looked like fools yesterday and today.
I am so over their bleating.

No JMK I did not, however, from experience I did not believe the comment so I went here and typed in gonski in the search space
http://www.liberal.org.au/search/node
Oh gosh, 6-7 pages of references for "Gonski". How did that happen?
Is it on any site we can trust ?

You don't seem to understand. I do .......:
womanlol:
Tony Abbott just hands over our money .....no strings (red tape, state commitment ) attached
The conditions have been 'REMOVED' by this Government
I want the conditions to apply to money our Federal Government hands out to states/territories
....else they can just take Federal Dollars, not do much to help our kids and spend their own Education dollars and use them elsewhere .

there is more to it.....that was a Liberal kind of focus I suppose .

oh, so your state education leaders aren't to be trusted with what they are Constitutionally required to do? You would rather an entity even further removed from the source of the need to dictate how the funds are to be distributed?
and laughin my head off about "strings" and Gonski used in the same context.... they're synonymous hahahahaha
Please read the Constitution of Australia and find out exactly what the Federal Government is allowed to do for education. Then ask yourself why they get involved at all, but more importantly, HOW. (And I am not talking about section 96 of the Constitution, I'm talking about what deals were made to secure the funding in the first place.....

something that I don't know and am hoping for an unbiased answer..
If three states had legally binding agreements, and the funding was legislated for, how did the current Government get around that?
Does anyone know the name of this alleged legislation and when it was repealed? (assuming of course it ever received assent)

there are some holes in your arguments crikey. throughout these discussions you questioned the wisdom of 'throwing money' at the undeniable gaps in the education system, an argument that doesn't stack up considering the arduous process of the gonski review.
now, since the abbott/pyne u turn they distribute money to the states without conditions. unregulated.
which approach is throwing 'money around' i ask ? a properly researched and planned process or 'here you go' as is now the case brought on in a panic and poorly thought out (if at all)merely to get some heat off ? The adults are in charge ? really ?

When did schools become a federal issue? They are under the warm blanket of the respective States. Guess it's good fodder for some not to acknowledge that.

a review of the education system and a definitive lack of talent in managing the money and the ed system at a state level , decades of mismanagement made it an issue.
