Khaled Sharrouf's Children.

Khaled Sharrouf was born in Australia, as was his wife. Do (did)  either of them have dual citizenship and do his children have dual citizenship? If they don't, how can the Government strip them of their Australian citizenship and  refuse them re-entry to Australia?

The discussion is about Shareef, his wife, his kids and the power that the Government has or should have or shouldn't have. No one mentioned paperwork or asylum seekers before you did. Is mentioning asylum seekers becoming the new "Godwin's Law"?

HYPOTHETICAL

The year is 2065. You are a three generation Aussie, of English heritage but with  Australia citizenship only. You are an LNP voter, but for the past 15 years, the country has been run by a very popular, but increasingly left wing Labor Government

Due to Global warming Australia has recently had a run of severe droughts and is facing a serious food shortage. To combat this the government in it's wisdom, decides to introduce rationing and nationalise the farming.industry. The legislation passes while  you  and your children are on a holiday  in England, visitng rellies.

Rationing you can live with, but as a believer in private enterprise, you are horrified at the idea of nationalising farms and you take to Facebook to vent your anger at the Australian Government. At the end of your rant you post a picture of Guy Fawkes, with the comment GUY FAWKES, THE ONLY MAN EVER TO ENTER PARLIAMENT WITH HONOURABLE INTENTIONS.

The post goes viral and soon comes to the attention of a Government that is approaching an election and facing an increasing voter backlash against this piece of legislation.  Citing the authority initially granted to them in 2015 andsubsequently amended and expanded in 2027, 2048 and 2059, they strip you and your children of citizenship and refuse to allow you back into the country on the grounds that you are inciting terrorism and pose a threat to national security.

And don't say this could never happen, because history shows us just how easily it could.

Nothing to do with asylum seekers as they are not terrorists. This thread is about the Australian government and Australian citizens who are alleged terrorists not asylum seekers.

Perhaps I should rephrase what I said.

Why should other countries be responsible for Australian citizens who partake in terrorist activities, or are family members of said terrorists,  whilst in their countries?
