Well, I have set it up (I think), opened an account with Amazon and downloaded my first book.  Just a few questions:

Where do you find the free books on Amazon?

How do you add credit to your account - I used my credit card this morning.

What does the percentage mean on the bottom of your screen.

I think I connected with wi-fi correctly but it has a lock and "forget" beside it.  Does your's have that?

Hope you can help.

In the meantime, I am into reading :-D.  Just off to our grandson's birthday party at an indoor play centre - would it be rude to take my kindle ?:|.  I think I had better leave it at home.

Thanks to anyone who can answer my questions.

Sign up to pixels of ink. They will send you emails daily with all the free books.

I won a free ebook in a competition so downloaded that last week.  I've finally set up my Amazon account with a gift card I got for my birthday last year.  Downloaded my first two 'purchased' books yesterday from an Aussie author I've been wanting to read.  Off and running now. ๐Ÿ™‚

To see the freebies on Amazon, click on the menu on the left for Kindle. That will give you a search bar with Kindle eBooks on the top of the page.  In the blank search bar on the right of that just put in free and you'll see all the freebies.

POI is also great for freebies with the daily emails and FB posts.

My daughter is totally addicted to hers.  She's even planning on taking it to the labour ward in a few weeks to take her mind off what will be happening there! :^O

Just finished reading Assault with a Deadly Glue Gun, by Lois Winston, quite enjoyed it, went looking for her next one, it us just under $10 *sigh*.

Assault with a Deadly Glue Gun is still free if anyone is interested.

Dance of the Winnebagos was another I enjoyed, it is now $2.99

I saw those Amy - might go back and have another look at them.

I have just re-read this complete thread and taken notes - especially Amy's hints on opening collection folders.  I will delete read books as I don't re-read but a folder for cooking, and other help books would be handy.

I am reading the book I bought yesterday but haven't been game to click off it in case I lose my page.  If I go to menu and do other things, then click back on this book, will it take me to the page I'm up to?

I have ordered my cover, light & screen cover from HK on eBay and while I'm waiting I have left the film over the screen that ity comes with.

I love it so far and it is keeping me from wasting so much time on CS.
