I'm getting a new kitchen (dont know when) and I love the glossy look.
Has anyone got cons of getting one?

My kitchen will be finished by next weekend. White high gloss cupboards, matt laminate benches in a light colour, stainless handles. White tiles with black feature tiles. OH refused to consider my request for a red glass splashback ๐
(and the 7 yo said I had to choose black and white or it would "break grandad's heart" lol)
Big holdup was when we removed the old kitchen to find that the position the dishwasher was to go, had a drainpipe in the spot, so re adjustment.

Az I want the high gloss too..............but I'm rethinking that now.
Like glass in a kitchen......maybe not a good idea.
My kitchen is used alot.............we love to cook here.

Flannie is that your current kitchen in the BUILDING Pics? If so it's very nice ๐ Crystal, I really do think it's a personal choice, what suits one person, prob won't suit someone else. Mine came with it's own set of probs, 'cause being a "typical" old house there are doors everywhere which had to be worked around, it took a bit of thought but I am happy with the result.

I did look at the kitchens that have press open doors when my OH wanted to have no handles but the fingerprints on the display kitchen were awful.
I am having a long handle and expect them to be less of a problem, same reason I chose white for my fridge and dishwasher.

You changed your mind re white benchtops Azureline? Everything for kitchens seems to be red atm, which is just great when you are looking for pale and navy blue accessories

no, not really, the benchtops are called cocoa sand, so a very light shade with a fleck through it. Not white but not really a colour either

K thought I read somewhere, white cupboards, white benchtops, not to worry

I have high gloss white and white benchtops. I rarely wipe the gloss drawers and cupboards they seem to keep cleaner than the old matte style. I highly recommend high gloss and all drawers , no cupboards except overhead.

I've had matt kitchen and now have (inherited) gloss kitchen. I hardly ever wipe the cupboards unless to clear a speck of food and I have never seen fingerprints from every day use. I just went back to check it now and, nope, clean as anything!
It might depend on the material. Our kitchen is 2pac white and no fingerprints. But laminex white gloss (called diamond gloss) does seem to pick up fingerprints easier (I am holding a sample in my hand now for a commecial job).
