Kiva loan :)

Aww my 14 year old son just happily paid for a Kiva loan out of his own money. I suggested it to him after showing him the one I did last night and he didn't hesitate to say yes.

Just a little bit proud that he did that :-x

The way I understand it to be, each individual member loans in their personal account. Then as a member joins a team, it only puts info together as stats and gives members a sense of doing something together. The team can also have friendly competitions with other teams or host events and access various marketing tools.

I guess the main benefit as a team is lending to same borrowers so their loans become fully funded faster, coming back to ashjomas original idea of conversing here for that same result.

How that shows in the team account, I'm yet to see, but I guess we will see as time goes.

That's a great benefit, I like to find ones that only need a little more to be fully funded.

I think different teams have different goals, I know there is one that aims to funds last minute loans, ones that look like they may not reach their goal. There are probably others that focus on women or men or other things. I guess it's also a way to see what you can achieve as a team, as I said I was surprised to see how many loans have been generated just from a few members and I think loans you make from now on get added to the team stats to achieve our goal. If anyone has a more inspiring goal or information they would like to add feel free to let us know. I'm not sure how many captains we can have or if there is a limit at all, it's quite new to me also.

Kopenhagen5, I'm happy to add you as a captain if you like, I'll do it now and feel free to uncaptain it if your not keen ๐Ÿ˜„

Lol, looks like I can "bestow captainhood' on all of you if you like, so I have :^O

Just feel free to remove it if you'd rather not, I'm not sure if you can see anything different or you can just edit more information ?:|

I just put a team pic in, but if anyone doesn't like it, feel free to replace it.

A function I like is the repayment schedule located after hovering over the little arrow next to profile, scroll down to repayments.

I prefer to lend to those that repay quickly so as to spread it around more and tend to choose basic needs as opposed to business needs. I saw someone borrowing 1000 for a mobile phone for personal use, I think most of us can find a good mobile for less than half that, even 200 would suffice.

The beginning of something wonderful. ๐Ÿ™‚

I like the pic Kopenhagen.  It suits us.  Thanks too for backing the lady with the cattle.  She is obly 56% backed but she has already been loaned the money.  They are back filling the loan now.

Yes, I like the pic also, perfect ๐Ÿ™‚ It's interesting who you lean towards when you loan, I tend to choose smaller loans, individuals, mostly women but my son chooses men and I tend to gravitate toward those raising funds for their businesses.

I couldn't find the 'repayment schedule' you mentioned Kopenhagen  ?:|
