shouoldn't they be more worried about the narrow margin? There isn't that much in it, in what is traditionally a labor seat. It looks like the tides are losing and they're losing footing. Shows more people are warming to the LNP, that they're moving away from Labor.

well that's what it looks like to me.

If I won by 20 votes last time, but only 2 this time, it'd read that as my popularity was slipping, not celbrating a victory per se.

That's not what happened though.

A well known person with big bucks behind him, who's been campaigning for over a year, lost to a woman who is relatively unknown.

Lol, Glasson has been campaining so hard for much longer, one of the best and he lost, I know who should be worried and it isn't Labor 🙂

It's a victory, a win is a win no matter how the LNP spin it.

in a town renowned as dedicated Labor supporters. His campaign was obviously enough to sway some voters, that should be concerning. Maybe next time he'll manage to sway a few more....

don't know, don't care.

Hopefully Labor is using this time to rebuild and to stabilize their party and it's foundations so that next time they do get into power it won't be so tumultuous as last time they were.

It's got to be a lot easier for them to do their job if they're not having to focus on the instability within.

Of course they will one day be back in power and be our leaders, it'd just be good if they had a fair shot at doing their job iykwim. I'm not against labor, I was never really interested in anything political at all until all the chopping and changing of leadership in the last goverment. That just made me uneasy.

One job I had, we went through about 5 exec chefs in as many months. It was a horrible and very uncertain time with all the chopping and changing and that's what the last gov reminded me of.

I hope next time they are just more stable, that's all.

Re: Labor is favourite to win in Griffith

Do you feel the same sense of unease about the Libs dumping their Premiers?

I don't recall reading anything positive you've had to say about Labor or anything negative about the LNP.

Re: Labor is favourite to win in Griffith

of course. but it was the instability of leadership that unsettled me. It's hard to know where we are going when we don't know who's getting us there or how they're doing it. Makes it harder to jusge what they're doing and how it affects me and mine so that I can determine what I need to do to get what I need iykwim...

and you're right, I didn't find very much positive about the last labor govt at all. I did however still express my respect and admiration for Ms Gillard and the position that she held. I didn't like how she did her job, but as I said, I still admire the fact she got herself into a position to give it a shot. No one knows how well suited they are to a position until they actually get there, whether they drive tractors or are PM.

I was very vocal about the disrespect shown to Ms Gillard with that menu thing. and about people not using her real name by which to address her. To me that was disrespectful, no matter how much I didn't like how she did her job.

I will always respect the position, and will always have respect for the person who was able to get into the job iykwim. It's not something that everybody can acheive - to lead an entire nation.

Don't know if I've said anything neg about Libs? maybe no need? I agree with offshore processing, don't care who is behind it. I don't see why the drama around boat people apart from stopping the actual smuggling in the first place. I think I've said many times I wish we could take everyone, we just can't. Plus I like that those we do accept get checked and processed etc, not just let in.

Might not be correct thinking, but it';s mine.

Nope, don't like how we were sold the NDIS, nor the reasons foiir it's creation, as people with disabilities should never have needed special focus, they should already have been getting the care they needed. etc etc

Don't like our education system, regardless of who's at the helm. and I dion't believe gonski will fix it, so my problem there is the people pinning their hopes on it doing so,

NBN? Don't care, as long as we can pay for it.

oh that's two negs againast the libs LOL

i said i didn't believe what they had in mind was any better than gonski, said it was all smoke and mirrors too

and said I reckon we need shorter processing time for our asylum seekers.

That's just me, my opinion means squat. I'll roll with the punches whatever govt we have.

I know what I want out of life for me and mine, so if I don't think the govt will help me with that, I'll do it privately kind of thing. I'll just work within whatever system we have to get the what I think me and mine need and want.

anyway, that's just me, and I'm so insignificant I don't even have the NBN LOLOL, so who am I in the grand scheme of things? LOL

but my internet works, I can appreciate the bigger picture, but I will still focus on making my life as close to perfect for me as I can regardless of who is in power.
