I'm planning to buy a lemon or Lime tree as a house warming present.
Any suggestion which most people prefer and also what type of lemons. There's so many different types. What's one that's easy to look after and produces heaps?

@j*oono wrote:I have a dwarf Meyer lemon in a pot. The poor baby. It is only one year old and I had to stake it because the lemons were pulling it over. Even though the tree is dwarf size the lemons are full size.
I'm hoping that once the fruit are gone then the tree can put it's energy into itself and grow a bit. The lemons are beautiful and juicy.
We have one like J*oono, and had the same problem, the poor tree has had some many fruit on it, my hubby had to stake it as well...........but it is better to have plenty of lemons than none at all
We are very happy with the dwarf size on.

Best lemon tree anywhere in australia is Eureka. That is just an old fashioned, every-backyard-has-one type of tree. Lots of lemons and hard to kill.
Meyer is good for Melbourne climate but bit more finicky.
I have a lemonade tree in the backyard and it fabulous. Fruits almost continuously and the fruit starts off small and green (and tastes like lime) and then becomes big, yellow and sweet the longer you leave on the tree. HEAPS of fruit and you don't have to do anything to it.

I bought what I thought to be lemons at the market on Sunday
But inside they look and taste like limes
Do limes stay green
I always thought they did
Or do they eventually turn yellow like lemons
Anyway I used them on some pancakes with sugar
Tasted a bit strange but we ate them anyway lol

Hahahaha yes limes turn yellow eventually.
I think I needs me one of those lemonade trees. Sounds brilliant.

Give them neither.
Instead, give them a bottle of Moet.

My hubby gave me a family of meerkats
For Christmas one year I put them in the garden and no birds
Would come anywhere near the yard
So I put them under the verandah out of sight
And the birds came back
