Seems to be what a limited number of posters want.. those that are prolific at starting new threads.

Threads on other topics are sometimes derailed or mocked, that can be quite a deterrent.

I like the political threads, if they are friendly discussions with varied opinions. That can be interesting.

I didn't like it when there were 20 new political threads posted here every day, but generally I quite like having a few them on CS. I guess people like to discuss current affairs/events  That's OK by me
