However,if you read my post the subject of my comment was those immigrants who came here immediately and shortly after the end of WW11.

Not those who subsquently came here in the 1970's and later. .

Where do you get your evidence from? Do you work with refugees or asylum seekers?

I work with refugees and I see LOADS of evidence of the atttributes Australians admire and respect in "the current lot" and more "recent lots" and "older lots".

What do you think about the Vietnamese refugees in Australia?

I know Italians and greeks who arrived in many periods (45/55/65) whose 'husbands did not let them learn English, much less drive a car'.

As I stated Assimilation is a myth.
