Australia doesn't manufacture non-halal chocolate as far as I know so YES you are correct no jobs.

Then you did contribute to the economy and helped employ someone (at least one person) 

Freight, Storage, Stocktaking, Selling...etc..all those jobs still need to be done..its just that the manufacturing, packing etc was done in Italy.
