I have the Nintendo DS Brain Training Academy

Haven't used it for a while though     silly.gif

It shows you things like BLUE  GREEN  YELLOW  PURPLE etc,

but you have to say the colour not the word.

I also have the Maths training.

Both games are based on speed.

edit:  I think the thread title was right

Some of the stuff that I have read reinforced that, video games can improve performance.

I hope the training program works for you Donna, there is always room for improvement 🙂

I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Donna, the training was good when I was doing it regularly, but

the trouble is you can get fast and yet not be able to get a higher

score.  A little disappointing if you can't get a better score.

I used to have fun competing against teenage grandkids and

beating them.  HAH!!

Any brain training game is worth it IMO and it is fun

This just popped up on my Facebook feed, I would have thought everyone could read it?

I don't know anyone that uses Lumosity but the advertisement put me off a little bit.  The people in them seem a little bit too Hillsong or Church of Scientology.

I love brain game apps on the phone.  My favourite at the moment is Wordbrain.  It starts out fairly easy and gets steadily more difficult so it really makes you think.

Another one that I have is MindGames but it gets a bit repetitive and I got sick of that one quite quickly.

The only game I play is scrabble on Facebook, I have enough things to distract me and have a fear of enjoying them too much ha ha

My kids play them though.

I know what you mean, the ads put me off too, it is very difficult to find a review that is not a plug for it.
